So ok, Im a little partial to chocolate – aren’t we all??? There’s nothing like a yummy chocolate treat to escape the winter blues but if you avoid the prepacked chocolate bars and have these instead, they will be all the more sweeter because there will be no guilt. Raw cocao is a superfood – full of antioxidants, minerals and positive neurotransmitter properties (that means it actually makes you feel good!) There is no denying these little gems are awesome so give it a try at home ?
2 ripe banana
4 tbsp coconut butter/oil
4 tbsp raw honey
1/2 cup raw cacao
1 cup walnuts & almond
2 tbsp chia seeds
1/4 cup raw cocoa
Combine the bottom ingredients in a blender and process until well mixed. Don’t worry so much if there are some chunks, as long as it’s predominantly smooth, it’s fine.
Spread blended bottom ingredients in a square or rectangle glass tray ( approx 20 x 20cm). I put some greaseproof paper in the bottom to make removing the bars from the pan once frozen so much easier! Spread out the mixture until evenly distributed.
Combine top ingredients in a blender and process until well blended, should be smooth. I warm you, this stuff tastes good, so try to resist eating as you wont have any left for brownies, Then spread blended topping ingredients over bottom ingredients in pan.
Place in the freezer for a couple hours.
Remove from pan, cut into squares and serve! (Makes 14-16 or so 5 cm squares).
