I am pleased to say my personal blend of muesli is now available at retail stores and online.

As a nutritionist, I love the natural healing properties of real food. I was forever looking for a good, balanced breakfast to feed my family and after finding very few brands with the right amount of natural sugars and combination of nutrients I began making my own. POP MUESLI is the result. It’s a gluten free blend, containing only natural sugars and healthy fats and most importantly palm oil free.

All the ingredients are organic and made from only the highest quality, hand selected ingredients. As a mother of two, I understand the importance of a wholesome, nutrient rich  breakfast. This muesli blend removes the guess work for you. This is what the nutritional panel looks like:

POP MUESLI is best eaten with a serve of seasonal fruit and your choice of milk. Personally, I use rice milk but my daughter swears by coconut water.  Below are its delicious ingredients and their benefits:

Popped quinoa – Rich in protein – close to a complete source of all eight essential amino acids and particularly high in lysine. Highly researched by NASA and chosen as ideal astronaut food – who are we to argue?

Popped amaranth – Another great source of protein and also exceptionally high in the amino acid lysine, one of the highest sources of calcium, iron and magnesium compared to other gluten free grains. It also has a nice amount of good fats including vitamin E.

Popped brown rice – A good supply of vitamins and minerals including phosphorus (great for bones and teeth), iron for red blood formation and zinc as an excellent all round for optimum immune function.

Coconut flakes Apart from the fact that it adds an awesome taste to the muesli, the benefits of coconut products are numerous. Coconut is wonderful source of good fats, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals with again iron and zinc dominating the pack.

Sunflower seeds A great source of vitamin E, an antioxidant that is not only essential for good skin but helps protect cell membranes and works as an anti-inflammatory.

Pumpkin seeds It contains the essential amino acid tryptophan which helps the body product the B vitamin niacin and in turn serotonin, an important chemical in producing a calming effect in the brain.

Sesame seeds This humble seed is awesome! Not only is it one of the highest source of calcium, but along with zinc, it promotes bone health and is great step towards preventing osteoporosis in later life.

AlmondHigh in monounsaturated fats – the good fats that lower LDL cholesterol and reduce risk of heart disease. Gotta like that!

Brazil nuts A great source of selenium and zinc. Both are important co-factors in maintaining antioxidants to fight free radicals. This supports the body in the anti aging process to keep that youthful glow.

Apricots –  Ours are preservative free and full of flavour.  Dried apricots have a more concentrated nutrient profile than fresh ones. They contain beta carotene which is beneficial for eye health and are a great source of antioxidants too.

Goji Berries This berry is known for its ‘superfood’ qualities meaning it contains high levels of various vitamins and minerals. Its toted as a longevity berry and has an abundance of antioxidants such as vitamin A, C and E.

It is currently available in Victoria at these stores with many more to come soon. It can also be purchased here.
